7 Ways Working Moms Can Boost Their Mood and Happiness
This post is about 7 effective ways for working moms to boost their mood and happiness, providing valuable strategies for achieving greater well-being and balance in their lives.
As a working mom, it can be tough to keep your mood and happiness up. You’re constantly juggling work and home life, and it feels like you never have any time for yourself. But did you know that there are several things you can do to boost your mood and happiness? In this blog post, we will discuss seven ways working moms can cultivate a positive mindset!
Ok, so… What are the Benefits of positive thinking…?
Positive thinking will help to improve your mental and physical health, as it produces positive emotions that can reduce stress and improve your outlook on life. Additionally, positive thinking can lead to healthier lifestyle choices such as better eating habits, more time spent exercising, and a stronger sense of self-worth. Lastly, positive thinking can also help you to better manage your time, as positive thoughts create positive energy which will enable you to get things done more efficiently.
Ok ok… give me the list. Sure!
But first, we need to start with a biggie: Taking Care of Yourself
We as working moms are always so busy juggling our families and careers that it’s easy to forget to take care of ourselves. However, taking time out of our day for self-care is essential for maintaining positive well-being and setting a good example for those around us.
What does this look like?
Take a break for yourself each day
One way to take care of yourself is to make sure you’re taking a break for yourself each day. This can be something as simple as taking a few minutes to yourself in the morning to enjoy your coffee or reading a book before bed. It’s important to have some time each day when you can relax and not think about work or home life. See some tips for creating some Me-Time.
Exercise regularly
Exercising regularly is one of the best positive habits that us working moms can cultivate. When I take the time to get in a workout, I feel better mentally and physically. Even if it’s just 10 minutes of stretching or going on a short walk around my neighborhood, regular exercise can help reduce stress and boost your positive mindset.
Get enough sleep
Can’t leave this one out: Sleep
We all know how important it is for working women to get enough sleep. It can be hard to prioritize, especially since there’s so much vying for our attention. Getting enough rest helps me stay positive and energized during the day, and prevents burnout which in turn helps keep positive energy levels up. Regularity is key here – try to keep a consistent sleep schedule, stick to the same bedtime each night, and make sure to give yourself enough time to relax before bed. Take some time for yourself with a calming activity or just read a good book – it’ll help you unwind and drift off into dreamland for a positive start tomorrow!
Turning off devices an hour before bed can also help. The blue light emitted from screens is a known disruptor of sleep, it stimulates our brains, so it’s important to limit exposure to this type of light in the evening hours. To help reduce exposure, try turning on a night mode, which most devices nowadays have, to reduce how much blue light is emitted before bedtime.
And now, without further ado, the list…
1. Start your day with positive affirmations.
Affirmations are positive statements you repeat to yourself regularly. They can help replace negative thoughts with positive ones, improving your attitude and outlook on life. It is best to start this after you wake up before your day gets really started, once we are up and about, I have found it is harder to do this.
Positive mantras, positive quotes, or positive sayings will help you get into a positive state of mind. Take just a few minutes in the morning to repeat positive affirmations to yourself and remind yourself how powerful and capable you are. You may like to tell yourself “I am strong and capable” or “I will do my best today”. This positive reinforcement will help you stay positive and motivated throughout the day – even on those days when you are feeling overwhelmed! Remember to be grateful for the positive things in your life, no matter how small they may seem. 2.Take joy in the small things that bring you happiness.
We can often get too wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, which can make us forget to appreciate the positive moments that we experience. I try to take a step back and enjoy these positive moments whenever I can. For example, when I finish a project at work or spend quality time with my family, I like to take the time to be grateful for these positive experiences. Taking joy in the small things that bring us happiness can help us keep our positive mindset throughout the day, no matter what challenges may come our way.
3. Look for the humor or something positive in challenging situations.
As working moms, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the responsibilities and tasks we have. But when we look for the positive in challenging circumstances, it can help lift our spirits and put us in a better frame of mind. For example, when I’m feeling overwhelmed by my workload, I take some time to step back and appreciate how much I’ve already gotten done. This helps me to focus on the positive instead of getting caught up in feeling stressed out. When things don’t go as planned, I try to look for the humor in it and find a way to laugh off my mistakes. Taking this positive attitude gives us the energy and motivation we need to take on our day!
4. Transform failures into learning opportunities.
When you have setbacks, it’s easy to feel discouraged and become jaded. That’s why I like to look at these moments as learning opportunities and use them for my advantage. For example, when I make a mistake, I take the time to reflect on what went wrong and consider how I can do better next time. Making this mental shift, helps us stay positive by looking for the silver lining in our mistakes and using them as an opportunity to grow and learn.
5.Choose positive self-talk instead of negative.
It can be so easy to fall into the trap of negative self-talk, especially when you’re feeling overwhelmed. That’s why it’s important to make a conscious effort to stay positive by making sure that your inner voice is encouraging and positive. For example, if you are feeling stressed about an upcoming deadline, remind yourself that you can do it and that you are capable of overcoming any obstacle. This positive self-talk will help you stay motivated and boost your confidence even when things may seem impossible.
When that negative voice creeps in, it’s important to take a few deep breaths and refocus your thoughts. Positive self-talk can make all the difference in improving your mood and helping you stay positive.
6. Be mindful and appreciate the present moment.
As a working mom, life can often feel chaotic and overwhelming. Taking the time to appreciate the present moment is essential for boosting positive emotions and happiness. Even if you only have five minutes, use that time to focus on your breath or turn inward and practice gratitude. Being mindful in the present moment helps you reconnect with yourself and prevent worrying too much about the future. Taking a few deep breaths and refocusing your thoughts can make all the difference in improving your mood and helping you stay positive.
7. Surround yourself with positive people who encourage growth.
When life gets tough, it’s important to have positive people around you who can help lift you up and encourage growth. Stay connected with friends who are positive, kind, and supportive of your goals and dreams — they’ll remind you that you’re not alone in this journey. Additionally, positive mentors and co-workers can provide invaluable guidance and help guide you in the right direction. Having positive people around who understand what you’re going through can make all the difference when it comes to improving your mood and boosting your positive energy.
Positive relationships help us stay positive by providing us with a sense of community, growth and support when we need it most. So take the time to surround yourself with positive people who will lift you up and encourage growth.
Having a positive mindset is key to staying happy and motivated, especially when life throws us difficult situations. By taking the time to practice positive affirmations, find humor in bad situations, turn failures into learning opportunities, use positive self-talk instead of negative, be mindful and appreciate the present moment, and surround ourselves with positive people who encourage growth we can stay positive even when life seems overwhelming.
So take a few moments today to nurture your positive mindset and remember that it’s never too late to start living a happier, more positive life. Good luck!
